In keeping with
the tradition of Old Time Gospel/Bluegrass, the "new" Camp Meeting Singers, will continue the old time gospel songs/bluegrass
with the vocals/mandolin of Dick Nail, vocals/banjo - Freddy Clowdus, guitar - Seebie Camp, fiddle - Ron Marco, and vocals/bass
- Sharon Camp, with Andrew Brown occasionally with us on guitar.
Buddy Camp passed away on April 22, 2012, of lung cancer.
We dedicate this page to him, being the founder and lead guitarist of the Camp Meeting Singers. He was an excellent guitarist,
bassist and songwriter, and might as well throw in comedian, because he could always make us laugh. Buddy traveled many miles to play and sing primarily Gospel Music. Buddy
played music almost all of his life, beginning guitar at about age 12, and also played bass. He sang with gospel groups – such as the Camp Family Singers, the Gospel Crusaders, and also
played with the Uplander Singing Band. The Camp Meeting Singers were members
of the Bluegrass Gospel Association and the Alabama Bluegrass Music Association (ABMA).
Buddy was also a board member of the ABMA.
